MuggleNet benefits from good relations with those that make the Harry Potter books and films. J. K. Rowling, the author of the books, has praised MuggleNet on her website by awarding it her "Fan Site Award" http://www.jkrowling.com/textonly/fansite_view.cfm?id=15. She also invited Spartz (along with Melissa Anelli, webmaster of The Leaky Cauldron) to her home in Edinburgh, Scotland for an exclusive interview http://www.jkrowling.com/textonly/extrastuff_view.cfm?id=21 upon the release of her sixth novel, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Rowling says she occasionally visits the site, and sometimes reads the comments left by visitors to the site, although she never comments herself - however, she has stated that she has visited the site's chatroom before, which she says she was snubbed upon when she joined in a conversation about Harry Potter theories. Warner Brothers, the producers of the Harry Potter movies, also invited Sparts and Anelli to the set of the Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire movie in December 2004, but apparently placing an embargo on the special report they made on the occasion, it still not having been released as of October 2005. Warner Brothers also regularly sends MuggleNet pictures taken from the upcoming movies before they are released, as well as giving MuggleNet a special preview of the new designs of the Harry Potter official website.
