Moro Crater massacre
The Moro Crater massacre was the 1906 massacre, carried out by the U.S. Army during the subjugation of the Philippines. Comprising 540 soldiers, a naval detachment, and a detachment of native constabulary, armed with artillery and small firearms, General Leonard Wood slaughtered all 600 unarmed Moros, counting women and children, in the bowl of an extinct crater, near Jolo in South Philippines.
