Montgomery County, Texas
Montgomery County is a county located in the U.S. state of Texas within the Houston–Sugar Land–Baytown Metropolitan Area. The county was named for its largest community, the town of Montgomery, Texas, which in turn was named for Andrew Montgomery, a settler who founded the town. As of the 2000 U.S. Census, the county had a population of 293,768. Its county seat is Conroe.
