MLS Golden Boot
In the United States, Major League Soccer (MLS) has handed out a Golden Boot Award since 2005. The award goes to a player who leads the league in goals in the regular season and replaces the MLS Scoring Champion Award that has been in place since the league's inception in 1996. If two or more players are tied for the lead in goals, assists will be used as a tie-breaker. The award has been sponsored by Budweiser since its inception. Here is a list of the past winners:
