Missy Elliott

Missy Elliott (born Melissa Arnette Elliott on July 1, 1971 in Portsmouth, Virginia) is an African American singer, rapper, songwriter, and record producer. Formerly known as Missy "Misdemeanor" Elliott, Elliott dropped the "Misdemeanor" from her stage name in 2003, and now simply goes by "Missy Elliott".

Singles and Videos

(*) "Pussycat" and the remix to "One Minute Man" and both remixes to "Get Your Freak On" were radio-only singles. None of them had music videos.

(**) A snippet of the song "4 My People" was included at the end of the "Take Away" video. Later in 2001, "4 My People" was released as a single remixed by English producers Basement Jaxx, the video featured an edit version of this remix.

(***) "Lick Shots", "Funky Fresh Dressed", and "On and On" did not have actual singles released, but they appeared in "mini-videos" similar to "4 My People" at the end of "Take Away". "Lick Shots" appears at the end of "Get Ur Freak On", "Funky Fresh Dressed" in the middle of "Gossip Folks", "On and On" at the end of "Lose Control, and "Meltdown" in the middle of "Teary Eyed". This is the same for the song "What You gonna Do" which is featured at the end of "One Minute Man".

(****) Q-Tip appears on the radio version of the "Hot Boyz" remix, but not the video version. Although she is not credited, Lil' Mo sings guest leads and background vocals on the single, and appears in the video as well.
