The main school building, architecturally-influenced by the Mission Revival Style was built in 1924 although the high school itself predates this building by over two decades. The current student body is extraordinarily diverse, with Latino and African American students constituting the two largest ethnic groups, although neither group makes up a majority of the student body. Just under 1,000 students attend Mission High School as of the 2004-2005 school year.
