Mindwarp


 
 

Mindwarp is a serial in the British science fiction television series Doctor Who, which was first broadcast in four weekly parts from October 4 to October 25, 1986. It is part of the larger narrative known as The Trial of a Time Lord, comprising the whole of the 23rd season.

Presenting more evidence of the Doctor's crimes, the Valeyard now presents the events of Thoros Beta, which he claims are more damning still. The Valeyard demands of the Inquisitor that the Doctor should face the death penalty and forfeiture of all his future regenerations.

After receiving a tip-off that the race known as the Mentors from the planet Thoros Beta have been making illegal energy weapons and distributing them around the galaxy, the Doctor and Peri investigate the report, suspecting their old enemy Sil to be involved. Sure enough they find Sil, but are captured and the Doctor used in an experiment designed to find a suitable host body for the Mentor's leader Kiv.
