Sara Connor's decision to attempt to kill Dr. Dyson in an attempt to stop Judgement Day is perhaps a play on the causality pardox of time travel. The "Grandfather Paradox" (AKA: causality paradox) is normallly phrased as "if you were to go back in time and kill your grandfather then you would cease to exist and thus would have never gone back in time and been able to kill your grandfather."
