Mikey Way

Michael James Way (born September 10, 1980), better known as Mikey, is the bass guitarist for the band My Chemical Romance and the brother of frontman Gerard Way. Mikey was born in Newark, New Jersey, but grew up in Belleville, New Jersey. He coined the band's name when he reshelved the book , by Irvine Welsh, while working at a Barnes and Noble. He learned to play bass specifically because My Chemical Romance needed a bass player.
