Mike Oxley
Michael Garver Oxley (born February 11, 1944) is an American politician of the Republican party who serves as a U.S. representative from the Fourth Congressional District (map) of Ohio. A member of the Lutheran church, Oxley was born in Findlay, Ohio and received a bachelor of arts degree from Miami University (Oxford, Ohio) in 1966 and a law degree from the Ohio State University (Columbus, Ohio) in 1969.

From 1969 to 1972, Oxley worked for the Federal Bureau of Investigation and became active in the Ohio Republican Party, serving as a delegate numerous times in the 1970s. He also served in the Ohio House of Representatives from 1972 to 1981, and was elected a U.S. representative in 1980 in a special election to fill the vacancy caused by the death of U.S. Rep. Tennyson Guyer and began serving in 1981 (97th Congress).

Before and during his tenure in Congress, Oxley represented Ohio as a delegate to the Republican National Convention in 1976 and 1984. He is currently the chairman of the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Financial Services, and was co-sponsor to the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002.
