Mike Matheny
Mike Matheny (born September 22, 1970 in Reynoldsburg, Ohio) is a catcher in Major League Baseball for the San Francisco Giants, and is considered one of the best defensive catchers to have ever played in the major leagues. He has also played for the Milwaukee Brewers (1994-1998),Toronto Blue Jays (1999), and the St. Louis Cardinals (2000-2004). While playing for the Cardinals, Mike won three Gold Glove Awards (2000, 2003, 2004) and led his team to the postseason in every year but one (2003). He was signed by the San Francisco Giants to a three-year contract on December 13th 2004. Despite his good glove work he is a a subpar batter, with a career average of .239. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
