Mick Goodrick
Mick Goodrick is a jazz guitarist.

Mick was the teacher of such notable musicians as Pat Metheny, John Scofield and Wolfgang Muthspiel. His first book, The Advancing Guitarist, is a manual for serious guitarists of all styles. Mick has also written a series of books addressing the intricacies of harmonic voice-leading.

He started on guitar when he was 12, was inspired to play jazz during Stan Kenton's summer camps; and in 1967, he graduated from Berklee College of Music. He was soon teaching at Berklee before spending a period with Gary Burton (1973-1976) recording extensively with the vibraphonist. Since then, Goodrick has taught extensively in the Boston area. He is currently a professor at Berklee. His most recent recordings have been for Greg Hopkins, Gary Chaffee, and Steve Swallow.
