Michigan City, Indiana
Michigan City is a city located in LaPorte County, Indiana, approximately 50 miles east of Chicago, Illinois and 40 miles west of South Bend, Indiana. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 32,900.

Michigan City Area Schools, the city's public school system, includes one high school, three middle schools, and nine elementary schools. Michigan City also contains one parochial high school and several parochial elementary schools.
