Michelle McManus
Michelle McManus (born Glasgow, 8 May 1980) is a singer who found fame after winning Pop Idol 2 in the UK, with her subsequent single "All This Time" spending 3 weeks at number one in January 2004. Her album, The Meaning of Love, reached number 3, while the title track only reached number 16.

In 2005 her debut single, All This Time, was shortlisted for the 50th Ivor Novello Awards.

On March 2, 2005 she announced on her website http://www.michelleofficial.co.uk/ that she would be appearing in a 60-minute TV special of You Are What You Eat with Gillian McKeith. Her appearance on the show, which was broadcast on June 22 2005, saw 4.07 million viewers tuning in, despite it being one of the hottest days of the year. This was well over the average viewing figures which the show normally got. Currently Michelle has lost seven stones and is planning on to lose more.

Michelle is set to appear on another edition of 'You Are What You Eat' in December as an update of her diet change and bid to lose more weight.

In July, Michelle mutually parted with management company 19 Entertainment and signed up with Rick Blaskey of the Music and Media Partnership, who also manages the likes of Joss Stone. She is currently recording and writing a new album which is set to be released in late 2005/ early 2006.

It is currently rumoured that Michelle has been approached by the producers of Coronation Street for a guest role as Adam Barlow's neurotic ex-Maths teacher.
