Michael Elam


 

Michael Elam was born May 28, 1976 in Welch, West Virginia. His family moved to Garrettsville, Ohio in 1987. He did not graduate from high school, but instead obtained a general equivilancy diploma (GED) in 1994 and persued a career in music while attending Kent State University. Michael is a multi-instrumentalist, he has been known to play guitar, bass, banjo, mandolin, percussion and occasionally dabble with electronic (synth and drum machine) instruments.

While attending Kent State University, Michael formed the group Septimus Bean and with his brother Shoeless Joe Boldensmith formed the record label Blue Harvest Records in 1997 which is home to projects such as The Lazarus Plain (1999) and The Rhythm and the cadence (2005) and Michael's solo project (Elam).
