Michael Bishop
Michael Bishop (born November 12 1945) is an American science-fiction and fantasy writer. He has also written mystery novels in collaboration with SF writer Paul Di Filippo, under the joint pseudonym Philip Lawson.

Born in Lincoln, Nebraska, Bishop received a bachelor's degree from the University of Georgia in 1967 before going on to complete a master's degree in English.

His first published work was the short story "Piņon Fall" in 1970. He won Nebula awards in 1981 and 1982 and has been nominated for numerous Hugo awards.
