Mianwali


 
 

Mianwali is one of the northern cities in the province of Punjab, Pakistan. Predominantly Siraiki speaking area that includes Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, Bahawalpur and other central and southern Punjab cities as well, to name a few. Famous for its stronge-willed people that constitute a greater part in Pakistan's Army, besides Jehlum. Atta ullah Khan Eisa Khailwi is the folk singer from Eisa Khail, a sub district of Mianwali, an internationally famed Siraiki language folt artist. The Niazis, a Pathan tribe are the most powerful people of Mianwali controlling the politics and other stuff of that area. Mianwali consists of various areas, including Essakhel, Piplan, Mochh, Rokhri, Ahmed Wala, Daud Khel and Mianwali City. Some other famous people from Mianwali include the Wada Khan Sahab Amir Abdullah Khan Rokhri aka Nawab Rokhri (Politician), Tariq Niazi aka Khan of Mochh (Politician), Dr Sher Afgan Niazi (Parliamentary Minister), Imran Khan Niazi, Obaidullah Shadikhel, Late Abdul Sattar Niazi, Gul Hameed Rokhri (Revenue, Relief & Consolidations Minister) & Aamir Hayat Khan Rokhri (MPA, LCCA President, Sec-Gen Pak Badminton Association). Mianwali is an important city of Punjab, and it has an airport, and an airforce base.
