Miami Vice

Miami Vice was a popular, innovative television series (five seasons on NBC from 1984-1989) starring Don Johnson (James "Sonny" Crockett) and Philip Michael Thomas (Ricardo "Rico" Tubbs) as two Miami police detectives working undercover. A motion picture based on the series is currently planned for release in 2006.

The Firearms

Crockett popularized the "Bren Ten" automatic pistol which he carried throughout the first couple of seasons. Of the many guns shown in the series, this one had the most impact. The pistol was chambered for the 10 mm auto cartridge. The surge in demand caused by this popularization created problems for the pistol's manufacturer, Donarus & Dixon; the company eventually failed in 1986.
