Mexican War of Independence
The Mexican War of Independence, which lasted from 1810 to 1821, was Mexico's struggle for independence against Spanish colonial rule. It started as an idealistic peasants' rebellion against their colonial masters but finally ended as an unlikely alliance between liberales (liberals) and conservadores (conservatives) fighting together for Mexico's independence as a sovereign nation.
