Messinia (Greek: Μεσσηνία, also spelled Messenia; see also List of traditional Greek place names) is a prefecture in the Peloponnese, a region of Greece. Messinia is bounded on the east by Mount Taygetus, on the north by the river Neda and the Arcadian Mountains, on the south and west by the sea.
