Melun
Melun is a French city and commune on the river Seine, about 50 km south-southeast of Paris. It is the préfecture (administrative capital) of the Seine-et-Marne département. Population (1999): 35,695. Its inhabitants are called melunais. Its current mayor is Gérard Millet (UMP, right of center).
