Meductic, New Brunswick
Meductic a small village located along the St. John River in southern New Brunswick. 2001 census data show the village to have a population of 189.

Its name is derived from the Maliseet word "Medoctic", meaning "the end". Bishop Jean-Baptiste de La Croix visited the area on the way to Port-Royal. He wrote: "Megogtek is the first fort in Acadia". Today's spelling has been in use since since the mid-1800's.

Today Meductic is home to a few quaint businesses including a bed and breakfast and gas station. A long time restaurant closed it's doors in 2004 after the opening of the new 4-lane Trans Canada Highway, which caused a dramatic drop in traffic on what is now Route 165.
