Mayim Bialik

Mayim Hoya Bialik (born December 12, 1975 in San Diego, California) is an American actress, best known for her lead role of Blossom Russo in the NBC television series Blossom.

In 1989, she also won the Young Artist Award for "Best Young Actress in a Motion Picture Comedy or Fantasy" for her role in Beaches (1988). She was also known for her guest role of Lisa Woodman in MacGyver. After the end of Blossom, she took time out from acting to attend UCLA, where she earned a doctorate in neuroscience.

After over ten years away from acting, Bialik has completed shooting on a new feature film, Kalamazoo? due for release in late 2005. She dislikes being approached by the general public with questions about her role in Blossom.
