Max Yasgur

Max Yasgur (December 15, 1919 - February 8, 1973) was the owner of farm on which the Woodstock Festival was held in 1969. During the event he briefly addressed the crowd. His speech appears in the movie of the event. Yasgur was eventually given 50,000 dollars for having his dairy farm destroyed. He was sued by his neighbours on January 7 1970 for property damage caused by ?flower children? who attended the festival. Later he sold his farm and died of a heart attack.
