Max Weber (politician)

Max Weber (August 2, 1897 - December 2, 1974) was a Swiss politician.

He was elected to the Swiss Federal Council on December 13, 1951 and handed over office on January 31, 1954. He was affiliated to the Social Democratic Party. During his office time he held the Department of Finance.

Max Weber was a German historian and sociologist who wrote about a theory of elite influence in government known as Bureaucracy. Governments and institutions, he said, were controlled mainly by large bureaucracies whose skill and expertise were vital to smooth operation of general affairs.
