Matthew Shepard
Matthew Shepard (December 1, 1976 – October 12, 1998) was an American university student who was murdered. Shepard, a student at the University of Wyoming, was robbed and attacked by two men near Laramie, Wyoming on the night of October 6–October 7. Shepard died from his wounds several days later. His killers are both currently serving life sentences in prison. Some have argued Shepard was attacked because of his homosexuality. However, the perpetrators and their families state that the motive was simple robbery and that Shepard's sexuality had nothing to do with the attack http://www.skeptictank.org/ghtbt13.htm.
