Matthew Kelly
Matthew Kelly, born 9 May 1950 in Urmston, Manchester and lived in Primrose Avenue in his childhood. He is a presenter on British television. His TV shows have included Game for a Laugh, You Bet!, and most notably Stars in Their Eyes, which he hosted for 11 years until March 2004.

He studied at Manchester Polytechnic School of Theatre obtaining a drama degree. At the polytechnic, he joined in a theatre group with Julie Walters, who was initially studying to be a nurse, and Pete Postlethwaite. He made his debut at the Pavilion Theatre in Rhyl, then at Liverpool's Everyman Theatre in the early 1970s.

He was arrested in January 2003 over an allegation that he had sexually abused a boy under 16, but all charges were later dropped. In October 2003 while being interviewed on Frank Skinner's talk show, Kelly confronted the host about his "horrible" jokes about his sex abuse case. It became a key moment in the on-going battle over trial by media.
