Matt Thiessen

Matt Thiessen is the lead singer, guitarist, and key man for pop punk/rock n' roll band Relient K. He was born on August 12 1980. Matt is also the primary songwriter for Relient K, writing songs that draw influence from both his Christian background, and teenage/high school life in general. He was born in Canada and later moved to Ohio. The Beach Boys are one of his biggest musical influences. He likes wearing plaid, but doesn't like high-tops. Matthew lives in Canton, Ohio.

In addition to being in Relient K, Matt plays in his own solo piano project called Matthew Thiessen and the Earthquakes. The songs are typically emotional and very personal. He currently has 3 songs produced for Christian compilation albums. He has been with Relient K since it was founded in 1998.
