Master P

Percy Robert Miller (born April 29, 1967), better known as Master P, was born and raised in the Calliope housing projects, New Orleans, Louisiana. He attended the University of Houston on a basketball scholarship. Raised by his grandparents along with his four siblings, he eventually moved to Richmond, CA with his mother in 1990. It was there where he used a $10,000 check from a legal settlement to open No Limit Record Store, which eventually became his record label, No Limit Records in 1994.

Music

Master P's debut album was The Ghetto Is Trying to Kill Me; and was followed by 99 Ways to Die, Ice Cream Man, Ghetto Dope and 1998's Da Last Don. After an unsuccessful attempt to play pro NBA basketball he returned to music with Only God Can Judge Me, followed by Ghetto Postage and 2001's Gameface, which was the first release from The New No Limit Records/Universal Records.
