Massapequa is a hamlet (and a census-designated place) located in Nassau County, New York. As of the 2000 census, the CDP had a total population of 22,652.

Ron Kovic, the Baldwin Brothers, Bobby Slayton, Steve Gutenberg, members of the Stray Cats and Jerry Seinfeld all grew up in Massapequa. It is sometimes jokingly nicknamed "Matzoh-Pizza" because of the area's heavy concentration of both Italian-Americans and Jewish-Americans. Although most residents who have lived in "Matzoh-Pizza" all their lives have never heard the town referred to by this nickname.
