In this adaption of Shelley's classic tale of man's toying with life, life's preciousness, and a misunderstood monster. Robert De Niro is the creation beyond the wildest dreams of Victor Frankenstein (Branagh). It is more faithful to the novel than most other film adaptations of the story, but does include some extreme deviations from Shelley's original plot. The film was poorly received by critics and the public.
