Marvin Harrison

Marvin Daniel Harrison (born August 25, 1972, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) is an American football player who played for Syracuse University and is currently playing in the NFL for the Indianapolis Colts.

NFL Records

• Highest reception average per regular season, with an amazing 86, and the average will go only up considering it is only three games into the 2005 season.
• At the end of the 2004 season Harrison was averaging 94 receptions per season (93.8 rounded), which is an all time record (which he still holds), he was well ahead of second place Sterling Sharpe who averaged 85 receptions per season.
• Holds the record for most Receptions in a single season with 143, obliterating the previous record of 123 set by Herman Moore.
• Only player to have four consecutive 100 or more reception seasons in NFL history.
• Achieved 800 career receptions faster than any player before him.
• Became the only player ever in the history of the NFL to have six double digit reception games in one single season in the 2002 regular season.
• Also became the only player in NFL history to have 12 8 or more reception games in one season in 2002.
• In the first 10 years of his career he has accumulated 860 receptions. No one has ever had a higher reception total after his first 10 seasons in the league (Harrison is only 3 games into the 2005 season, so this total will no doubt grow]].
