Marva-Whitney
Marva Whitney is a funk vocalist who is considered by many funk enthusiasts as being one of the "rawest" and "brassiest" music divas http://www.mp3.com/marva-whitney/artists/20718/biography.html. Whitney's performing career started as early as three years old while touring with her family's gospel group, the Manning Gospel Singers. Singing with James Brown in the last 1960s, she was able to make a name for herself. She entered the Top 20 hits on the R&B chats with "It's My Thing (You Can't Tell Me Who to Sock It To".
