Martin Shaw
Martin Shaw (born January 21, 1945) is a English actor. Despite an extensive body of theatre and television work, he is best known for his role as Ray Doyle in the British television series The Professionals.

Shaw was born in Birmingham and studied at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. Following graduation, he appeared on stage in such plays as Look Back in Anger and A Streetcar Named Desire (1974) (as Stanley Kowalski). His first major television role was that of the hippie student Robert Croft in the British soap opera Coronation Street. From 1977 to 1983 he appeared in The Professionals. After the series finished, he appeared on stage in Are You Lonesome Tonight? (as Elvis) and on television in The Chief (1990), Rhodes (1997) (playing Cecil Rhodes), The Scarlet Pimpernel (as Chauvelin) and P.D. James's Death In Holy Orders (2003) (as Dalgliesh), and the title role in Judge John Deed.
