Market Drayton
Market Drayton is a market town in north Shropshire, England, on the River Tern, between Shrewsbury and Stoke-on-Trent. Formerly known as "Drayton in Hales" (c. 1868) and earlier simply as "Drayton" (c. 1695). The town is on the Shropshire Union Canal, and the National Cycle Route 75. The A53 road by-passes the town.

The town is, reportedly, 'the home of gingerbread', through its long association with the Billington Food Group's factory. There are also currently local food factories, making yogurt and meat pies.

The town is the home of Tern Press, a highly respected and collectable small press publisher of poetry.
