Marine Memorial Laboe
The Marine Memorial Laboe is a memorial monument in Laboe in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. Consecrated in 1936, the monument originally memorialized the World War I war dead of the Reichsmarine. Since the end of World War II, however, it commemorates sailors of all nationalities who died during the World Wars. The monument consists of an 85 metre high tower with an observation deck. The WWII-era German submarine U-995 is a popular site for tourists at the foot of the monument.
