Marina del Rey is a census-designated place and seaside town located in an unincorporated area of Los Angeles County, California. As of the 2000 census, the CDP had a total population of 8,176.

Demographics

As of the census{{GR|2}} of 2000, there are 8,176 people, 5,315 households, and 1,520 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 3,587.2/km² (9,289.5/mi²). There are 6,321 housing units at an average density of 2,773.4/km² (7,181.8/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 82.46% White, 4.68% African American, 0.16% Native American, 8.21% Asian, 0.16% Pacific Islander, 1.30% from other races, and 3.03% from two or more races. 5.34% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
