Mariinsky Ballet
The Mariinsky Ballet is the most famous ballet school in history (formerly the Kirov Ballet), located in the Mariinsky Theatre of St. Petersburg, Russia.

It was in this theatre that Marius Petipa invented modern ballet with such quintessential works as Swan Lake and Sleeping Beauty. Among 20th-century ballets, Spartacus was inaugurated there in 1956.
