Marcel Lefebvre
Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre (November 29, 1905–March 25, 1991) was a leading Catholic who opposed the reforms of the Second Vatican Council, especially in matters of ecumenism, collegiality, the revision of the then existing Roman Missal, and the authorization to use the vernacular in place of Latin, and who was declared excommunicated by the Church authorities for consecrating four bishops despite a papal prohibition.
