Manny Coto is a writer, director and producer of films and television programs. He was the executive producer and showrunner of ' in its final season. He is scheduled to be co-executive producer on the fifth season of 24, expected in 2006.

Coto graduated from the American Film Institute and has had much experience in sci-fi and fantasy genre, he wrote and directed an episode of Tales from the Crypt and also wrote an episode for and produced The Outer Limits when it was revived on Showtime in 1995. He was given the chance to create and write a series for Showtime after The Outer Limits was cancelled, that series was called Odyssey 5 and it starred Peter Weller, the original Robocop.

Coto joined the writing crew of ' in 2003, when the show was in its third season, and became a co-executive producer later that season. In the fourth season he became an executive producer of the show, alongside creators Rick Berman and Brannon Braga. He wrote a number of episodes of the series, such "Similitude", "Chosen Realm", and "Azati Prime".

According to his bio on StarTrek.com http://www.startrek.com/startrek/view/library/creative/bio/6171.html, he has been a fan of Star Trek all his life and once wrote a Star Trek comic book. Because of this, and his radical aproach to tie in Enterprise with the original and preserve continuity, has resulted in high support for his work from the fanbase and he was largely credited with improving the quality of the series in its last season.
