Manning Marable
Manning Marable (b. 13 May 1950 in Dayton, Ohio) is a prominent African-American political scholar. He holds the position of Professor of Public Affairs, Political Science, and History at Columbia University, where he founded and directed the Institute for Research in African-American Studies. He has published widely, and is politically active in a variety of progressive causes. His current project is a biography of the black radical Malcolm X.
