Mannerheim is a surname of two well-known nobility lineages registered in Finland and Sweden.

The family originates from a Dutch businessman and mill owner Henrik Marhein from G?vle. His son, Augustin Marhein, was raised to the nobility in 1693 and introduced under the nr 1260 and with the name Mannerheim. His son, an artillery colonel and a mill supervisor, Johan Augustin Mannerheim was raised to a status of a baron at the same time with his brother in 1768 and was introduced in 1776 under nr 277. The family was immatriculated in Finland in 1818. and came to Finland in the latter part of 18th century.
