The Manhattan School of Music is a music conservatory located in New York City that offers degrees on the bachelors, masters, and doctoratal levels in the areas of classical and jazz performance and composition. It is one of the premier private music conservatories in the USA, with nearly 275 faculty members and over 800 students from 40 countries. In addition to this, the school also features a Pre-College Division that trains younger students.

The school is located on Claremont Avenue in the Morningside Heights neighborhood of New York City, adjacent to the campus of Columbia University, where it has been since 1969.

The school was founded in 1917. As of 2004, it has approximately 275 faculty members and 800 students from about 40 different countries. Many of the students live in the school's residence hall, Andersen Hall. At the present time, 75 percent of the students come from outside New York State and 41 percent from outside the United States.
