Manda is also a nickname for the female name Amanda.

Manda (???) is a fictional monster in some of Toho's kaiju eiga and tokusatsu films. His name comes from "ten-thousand snake" (which would be ?? - Manda in kanji).

He first appeared in the 1963 tokusatsu film Atragon as the god and guardian of the underwater kingdom of Mu and got into a brief skirmish with the Gotengo (the submarine of the title's actual name) and was frozen by a freezer beam. Manda later appeared in Destroy All Monsters and attacked London and was used by the Kilaaks in their attack on Tokyo along with Godzilla, Rodan and Mothra.

He made some stock footage cameos in a few more films but otherwise, Destroy All Monsters would be his last film appearance until ' where once again he is pitted against a redesigned Gotengo (Atragon) off the coast of Normandy and is defeated after being heated up in an underwater volcano and hit with the freezer beam and then shattered.
