Malparry


 
 

In fencing, a malparry is a parry taken so that the foible of the defender's blade (the section nearerest to the point) makes contact with the forte of the attacker's (the section nearest the hilt). In such a case, the leverage works against the defender, and the attack is likely to be successful.
