Disputed marriage & life jacket

She was apparently married on April 11, 1911, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Frank Wallace, a fellow vaudevillian who, in 1937, showed up in Hollywood with a marriage certificate seeking a share of "their" community property. She denied ever marrying him, and records showed she had never lived with him or even consummated the relationship, but she still found it necessary to obtain a legal divorce on July 21, 1942.
