Madame de Ventadour

Madame de Ventadour was the governess to young king Louis XV(great-gradson to King Louis XIV) . In 1712 measels hit the young royal family hard and soon the family began to die off. First Louis XV's mother, within the week, his father, a second cousin, and some uncles. Now only 3 heirs were left to the thrown (Him, his brother or his second cousin, Philippe d'Orléans). But, he and his brother both got the measels. Madame de Vatadour watched heplessly as the court doctors bled to death his brother in hopes of saving him. Madame de Vatadour decided that she could not just watch them do the same thing to Louis XV, so she took him into a room along with three nursery maids and locked the door. Miraculesly, Louis not only survived the night but completely conquered his diesese. If Madame de Vetadour did not do such a fatastic deed, he would have died and suddenly claims to the thrown would have appeared everywhere, causing wars. When Louis turned 5, his great-grandfather died and passed the crown on to him, although a regent stood in his place for many years before he could take place. France was happy he survived, though despite his efforts his reign was marked by steady decline.
