Maclean Stewart

Maclean Stewart (born Paul Michael McLean, May 24, 1976) is an Irish film actor.

Stewart was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland to Bridgeen Stewart and Dominic McLean. The name change was due to the British Actors' Equity Association rule that no two actors can share the same name. He chose his parents surnames after a trying a number of unsuitable options.

Stewart trained at the Belfast Institute of Performing Arts and Queens University, Belfast. Mainly a Television and Film actor, Stewart is also very successful in the Theatre and as a writer.

Before he became successful at acting, Stewart was employed in a variety of positions. A video store clerk, a Skateboard shop manager, a security guard and a Opthalmic Laboratory Technician. He also taught drama in various projects around Northern Ireland and has worked in stand-up comedy.

As Paul McLean, he worked for three years as an announcer for the Belfast Giants Ice Hockey team.
