Mack Mattingly
Mack Francis Mattingly (born January 7, 1931) is a former Republican Senator from Georgia, the first Republican to serve in the US Senate from that state since Reconstruction.

He achieved notoriety when he defeated longtime Georgia Democrat Herman Talmadge in the Reagan Landslide of 1980. He served in the Senate from January 1981 until January 1987, having been defeated in his bid for re-election by Wyche Fowler.
