Lufkin, Texas
Lufkin is a city located in Angelina County, Texas. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 32,709. It is the county seat of Angelina County{{GR|6}}, and is situated in East Texas. The town is named for Abraham P. Lufkin, a cotton merchant and Galveston, Texas city councilman. Lufkin was a close friend of Paul Bremond, president of the Houston, East and West Texas Railway which developed the town.
